Mablethorpe Primary Academy

Personal Development

Welcome to the Personal Development at Mablethorpe Primary Academy section of the website.

At Mablethorpe Primary Academy, we are dedicated to nurturing the personal development of each and every one of our pupils. Our vision is to be inspirationalkindhonestresilientrespectful, and positive in all that we do, and these core values are woven throughout our curriculum and school life.

Trips, Visits, and Local Excursions are sequenced to broaden our pupils' horizons and bring learning to life, we organise a variety of educational trips and visits throughout the year. Regularly check our published curriculum and social media feeds where you can keep up to date with our curriculum offer and see what your child is doing at school.

British Values and Leadership Opportunities Instilling British values is a key part of our personal development programme. Pupils have the opportunity to vote for their favourite book's on a weekly basis and learn about the importance of democracy and having a voice. We also encourage leadership through our House Captain system, where children from each of our five houses (Castles, Somerton, Lincoln, Tattershall, and Bolingbrook) are elected to represent their peers and organise house-based activities and events. Ambassadors for subjects help their house captains to represent their individual subject areas.

Outdoor Learning and Physical Activity Our large, well-equipped grounds provide ample opportunities for outdoor learning and physical activity. Children regularly camp on our school field. Pupils in Years 3-6 enjoy weekly swimming lessons at the local pool, and school grounds are a hub of exploration and adventure. Through these experiences, our children develop essential life skills, such as teamwork, resilience, and a love of the natural world. Through our Eco Warriors programme, children also have the opportunity to lead the school to become more sustainable.

Safeguarding and Wellbeing Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our pupils is of the utmost importance. We provide regular online safety lessons to help our children navigate the digital world, and our family support worker and mental health lead are on hand to offer guidance and support to both pupils and parents.

At Mablethorpe Primary Academy, we are committed to nurturing the personal development of each and every one of our pupils. By providing a rich and varied programme of experiences, instilling core values, and prioritising the safety and wellbeing of our community, we aim to inspire our children to be the best versions of themselves, both now and in the future.
