Welcome to the Clownfish class.

This page will give you all the information you need about what is happening in our class, such as PE days, homework, trips, events and the areas that we will be learning about during the term.

Welcome back Clownfish! We hope that you all had a wonderful half-term holiday and are ready for our very exciting term. Our learning will be focused on the enquiry question: Why do Christians celebrate Christmas?

PE will be on Wednesday and Fridays, please come to school in your PE kit on those days, and make sure that any earrings are either removed or covered with surgical tape or plasters. This term in PE, we will be learning about dance and boxercise.

In English, we will be starting Curious Quests will be exploring a range of different books linked to our learning. We will continue to focus on starting sentences with capital letters and finishing with a full stop. We will be working on spelling the words: I, he, she, me, we, the, go, to accurately in our writing.

In Maths we will be working on addition and subtraction skills. We will be looking at the relationship between addition and subtraction as well as fact families and the patterns that we can recognise. Before moving on to learning about 2D and 3D shapes and their properties.

In art, we will be learning about Christmas cards, we will be exploring different techniques and creating our very own cards using colour mixing and wax relief.

In music, we will be learning the songs in our school play, as well as listening to other styles of Christmas music.

In science, we will be continuing to learn about animals including humans. We will be focusing on hygiene and how important it is to look after our teeth.
