Class Teacher - Mrs L Staniland.

                             Welcome to the Jellyfish class.

This page will give you all the information you need about what is happening in our class, such as PE days, homework, trips, events and the areas that we will be learning about during the term.

Welcome back Jellyfish,

We hope you’ve had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed lots of chocolate goodies. This term is reasonably short but bustling with learning, fun and an educational trip. Our chosen Mablethorpe Academy Value for this term is Being Aspirational.

In Maths, we will be looking at time and arithmetic as well as consolidating and challenging our prior learning through daily maths.

Our book focus for English will be Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We will be completing our own creative book reports, writing imaginative opening paragraphs as well as drafting, editing and sending an apology letter from Goldilocks to baby bear.

Our wider curriculum text focus ‘What did the tree see?’ links to our overarching woodland theme alongside our trip to Willingham Woods on 6th May. (Don’t forget your wellies and suitable outdoor clothing, we might get a little mucky!). This trip will encompass our History, Geography and Art learning for the term. Looking at the history of woodland, the geographical features and changes as well as painting Willingham Woods using Brusho.

In DT, we will be thinking about healthy eating and varied diets whilst designing, making and evaluating a delicious fruit skewer. Look out for permission forms for the tasting sessions in your email inbox in the next few weeks.

PE this term will be Wednesday’s and Friday’s. Our focus’ will be Net/wall and Athletics. As always, please ensure your child’s earrings are removed on PE days or covered with a plaster, if this is not possible. Children are required to wear full academy PE kit for the PE lessons and trainers must be worn on these days please.

In Science, children will be identifying, classifying and making observations linked to animals and their habitats.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a fantastic term of learning and discovery!
