Welcome to the Jellyfish class.
Welcome back Jellyfish! We hope that you all had a wonderful half term holiday and are ready for our very exciting term. Our learning will be focused on the enquiry question: Why do Christians celebrate Christmas?
PE will be on Monday and Wednesdays, please come to school in your PE kit on those days, and make sure that any earrings are either removed or covered with surgical tape or plasters. This term in PE, we will be learning about tag rugby and dance.
In English, we will start by focusing on the Nativity story, we will be exploring writing in a range of different genres including: reports, instructions and posters. As well as using the playscript to learn our lines and to develop our acting skills, ready for our performance to parents and carers.
In Maths we will be working on addition and subtraction skills. We will be looking at the relationship between addition and subtraction as well as fact families and the patterns that we can recognise. We will be continuing our recall of the 2, 5, 10 and 3 times tables, and linking multiplication to division.
In art, we will be learning about Christmas cards, we will be exploring different techniques and creating our very own cards. In DT we will be investigating moving parts, experimenting with different moving parts to create cards with moving pieces.
In music we will be learning the songs in our school play, as well as listening to other styles of Christmas music.
In computing we will be working on our keyboard skills, saving and editing a document, we will be using our computing skills across the different areas of the curriculum.
In science we will be continuing to learning about materials and their properties. We will be focusing on experimenting on the suitability of the material for the task it is used for.
